Peter Worhunsky
Co-Founder & President
Peter Worhunsky serves as the Co-Founder and President of Live Oak Power, where he brings a wealth of leadership experience to the forefront of the sustainable infrastructure construction industry.
As a third-generation contractor growing up in the field, Peter has evolved strategically beginning with hands-on experience as a craftworker to key roles in project and corporate management. Peter has a twenty-five-year track record of successfully delivering major utility and infrastructure projects for clients like PG&E, Caltrans, Department of Water Resources, Caltrain, and SFO.
Peter is actively involved in shaping Live Oak’s vision and strategy, fostering its culture, and directing day-to-day operations. Overseeing crucial elements like safety, sustainability, quality control, and risk management, Peter ensures the overall success of Live Oak.
Peter supports construction education programs as a guest speaker and industry coach in Stanford’s Sustainable Design and Construction Program and as President of the Cal Poly Heavy Civil Minor Industry Advisory board. He is an advocate for collaborative project delivery and serves as a volunteer for the International Partnering Institute. Peter isa Commissioner on the State of California’s Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission.
Peter earned a double major B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from Fairfield University and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management.
During his leisure time, Peter enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children.
